Fall 2020 - Hour Changes

posted Aug 29, 2020, 11:13 AM by Martha Sawyer Community Library

The hours are changing for MSCL.
Monday 4:00-8:00
Wednesday 4:00-8:00
Thursday 4:00-8:00
Saturday 1:00-4:00
Typically I wait until school starts to switch to Fall hours. However, these next few weeks the teachers and staff are going to be working hard to make this year at Hanson and LES great. So I am shifting to Fall hours early so that they can do their work and you can park safely and get your books. I have also bumped the start and end times 30 minutes for the same reason; let the teachers, staff and parents picking up clear out safely before our library patrons roll in.
Saturdays the library will open 1:00-4:00. This will help keep library patrons and soccer families as separate as possible. I'll reevaluate the Saturday hours after the soccer season ends. As of now the MSCL hours of operation are the ones listed above.

Fall 2017

posted Sep 6, 2017, 4:26 PM by Martha Sawyer Community Library

Welcome back to Fall Hours at MSCL.

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday    3:30-7:30
Saturday    10:00-1:00
(Story time Saturday 11:00)

Fall Hours are technically any time that school is in session.  So we sadly say good-bye to Summer (and Summer Hours!) and hello to school days.  As the new students, families and staff adjust to the new year be advised that the parking lot is super busy from 3:00-3:45.  Parking next to the library clears up as teachers start to leave around 4:00ish.  In a couple weeks the drop off/pick up frenzy usually dies down and  the regular schedule falls into place.  That being said - please come visit at any time; you might have to park out by the soccer fields but I'll be here.  Welcome Fall!

October Happenings 2015

posted Oct 17, 2015, 9:44 AM by Martha Sawyer Community Library   [ updated Oct 17, 2015, 9:59 AM ]

The library will be hosting a costumed story time on October 31st at 11:00.  Halloween themed stories, a holiday craft and candy will be handed out (goldfish for those who are not keen on all the candy).  Open to everyone - but targeted for our preschool and elementary school friends.

The Lebanon Recreation Department will once again be hosting the Truck-or-Treat at the Lebanon elementary School on October 23rd from 6:00-8:00.  Please note this is FRIDAY.  Typically the event has been held on Saturday, but there was a conflict which forced the changing of days.  There will be a bounce house, face painting,  sand art, bake sale items and food to purchase.  This is a great, safe enviroment for kids to trick or treat in our town.  If you haven't been before come check it out.

The next weekend in Springvale, Maine there will be a carnival and haunted house located at the Nasson Community Theatre Gymnasium (457 Main Street Springvale, Maine).  The carnival is for all ages, the haunted house is for teens and adults only.  Please see our Facebook page for more information and a picture of their poster.  https://www.facebook.com/lebanonlibrary/photos/a.176422512403393.36135.167606613284983/978624155516554/?type=3&theater  The event runs October 29th, 30th and 31st.  Thursday and Friday run from 5:00-10:00 and the 31st they will be open 5:00-12:00.
